I think it has more to do with the separation of classes and the shrinking middle class. The nouveau riche don't get what they are doing to the culture.  We are less concerned with our neighbor and the results of our actions on all aspects of life.

I suppose there's some truth to that. Being self-absorbed is nothing new though - I guess my take on it is the media glorifying the material as being the definition of success and the constant bombardment of commercials attempting to convince us to buy buy buy is more what I meant. Some days I feel like such a hypocrite because I hate what values our consumerist society espouses through example, yet I'm a consumer in that society.

*sigh*

I t seems that Meadville would be an ideal location for distribution centers. What with its location to Lake Erie ports, and North-South and East-West highway systems that run close to it, plus being close to P'burgh airport. Wonder if there has been any interest in that type of thing.

Speaking of Waldameer.  Went there Thursday.  What a nice little park.  Packed a big ole picnic and my brother, sister and I tok all or kids up for the whole day.  The new roller coaster is something!  Clean, friendly and short lines.  We had a blast.
Oh yes Waldameer is a very nice park. We were there a couple of times last year and plan on making a few trips this year as well. Wanna ride the Flyer  :wahoo:

The new coaster is pretty nice gator!  Bigger than I expected!  Big hills.  All wood.  It takes you way out and over Penninsula Drive which is cool.  I meant to turn left out of the park and go see that when I left and forgot.
