I just don't see how a remake of this will even approach the original.  The original creator is none too happy about it either. Maybe an old geezer now who will be saying "they don't make them like they used to", but in this case, I think it applies.

Dumb idea. The fans are happy with what they got now. It's a cult classic. Cripes - I saw it in Seattle in '86 and they were throwing shit at the same time then as they were in the stage productions here in towm. A shot for shot remake would be the only remotely acceptable thing - and that's stupid too. Remember the Psycho remake?

Allow me to quote the 25th letter of the alphabet:

If they do it they'll probably screw it up with some people that can't fill the shoes of their predecessors. The original cast was just "right" for the part. Hell when I was in college we played the sound track and every party we had. It's a cult classic that is an institution at certain times of the year.

I heard about this remake.  I'm not sure what their deal is.  I've never been to a show, but I hear it is an interesting adventure.
