We went tonight.  I was scared.  I never knew some of the clothes that i saw up there were legal.  I thought Punxsutawney had rednecks, nope.  This fair won, hands down.  Though I can't believe the size of it.

The Tribune said the attendance was far lower than expected yesterday. Sorry SC, it looks like  you didn't get to see all of the indigenous fair-goers, just a small cross-section of them. It would appear that the economic woes are keeping more people out of the fair this year.

Of course this was only the first day.

I would love to Kimmi but I'm afraid they wouldn't make it to my car let alone the post office!

My son entered a chocolate bundt cake and a loaf of zucchini bread and got a blue ribbon for the bundt!  (He loves to cook.)  I'd love to be a baked goods category judge!

SC - I am always amazed at what some people will wear (or not wear) in front of thousands of people without batting an eye.

We are taking the kids to see Daughtry Tuesday night.

Saturday was slow up until I left at 4 pm

Do you have your horses up there, CLW?  We saw one huge clydesdale, booglet looked at it and told hubby he wanted that "tank" for his first car, lol.  He was only joking but shocked the crap out of me that he made a funny, lol.

There was one.....um... I dont know what to call it/her...... walking around with a backless shirt, halter style, no bra and I swear she could've given Roseanne Barr a run for her money on the hippo scale.  Rolls of, well, they definitely weren't bread, hanging down.  I was so grossed out.  Plus we dont think she had teeth.

We have two horses up there.  Getting ready right now to get up there and get little Who dressed for showing.  My feet still hurt from yesterday.

Well here is a recap of my night.........No fried green tomatoes but the thick giant pizza next door was good.    I also ended up getting some Barretts fudge and ate a few of those.    Bought some kettle korn and cinnamon apples to bring home.

There was some group playing that in my opinion sounded HORRIBLE and those poor souls that had to work under the grandstand.   Most of them had earplugs in.    The sound vibrations and stomping of feet ~ not a good combo on a metal building.

On a lighter note, the new cow barn is really cool......I bet those cows just love their new fancy schmancy home  ;D

Planned on going back up later this week but probably won't........I had my share in only 2 hours - LOL.

Daughtry sounded horrible?     Actually I heard he sucked at Clearfield's fair earlier this month as well.  Teen brat actually thanked me getting in the car last night for not letting her waste 41.50 for track tickets.

I'd heard Daughtry was 'less than spectacular.' But hey - whd'ya want from an American Idol contestant? (I'm not a Daughtry fan - I find his music derivative and a poor grunge pastiche. But I'm a music snob.) Anybody can be made to sound good in a studio. (I'm a good example of that!) But when you're out performing live. That's where talent shines through. Granted there may have been sound issues, but that's what you pay a good tech for.

Not all bands suck at the fair. Country music needs to sound good there too!

I hope it doesn't sour the board from trying a better rock band next year.
