Wednesday will be the last nice day for a while
« on: October 14, 2008, 11:49:28 PM »
Mrs Lock and I are taking a tour in the rod up into the National forrest Wednesday to check out the leaves. Supposed to be partly cloudy but warm. If it is as good as today was we will be satisfied.
Some rain and much cooler weather starting Thursday. :(
Sunday's trip over to Shaker Woods with a gang of about 15 cars was a beautiful day and trip. Ladies loved the craft aspect of it all .Guys looked and looked but never did see any car parts. ;D

It's nice here this morning, about 67. we're supposed to get to 87 today. The best thing is that the humidity will be low. So I'm going to take it and won't complain.

What NP, Not Complain?  Just kidding.  ;)
My weather here is closer to what you get, it's still humid when I ride in the morning. Or maybe I'm just a sweater.

Isn't there a fall foliage train ride that happens around this time of the year up there? My folks used to do it and loved it. I'm not sure if it was around Corry or not though.

Anybody?

The leaves change here around Thanksgiving. Though nothing like in PA. Some trees get the bright reds and oranges but most go from yellow to brown and fall off.

This time in Meadville was always my favorite time growing up. Loved the smell of burning leaves. Can they still do that there?

Left this am at nine. back home at 6:30pm. Put 230 miles on the rod and it performed beautifully. Never skipped a beat. Partially sunny/cloudy on most of the trip but ran thru rain in Marienville, PA and all the way down to Sigal.
Had a delicious breakfast at Sam's restaurant going out toward E.Titusville. We've eaten there many times and especially when all my hunting family had our camp at E. Titusville.
Had an early dinner at Plylers Buffet in Sigal. What a buffet they put on for $6.99. So much food available there. Sun broke out a little at Cochranton coming home. It wasn't the best weather but it was warm and we were out! :)   8)
