We had lunch a few weeks ago at Silver Shores - such a nice place, and I love water view restaurants. It would be good to see the town of CL improve. Maybe they should call themselves the Village of Conneaut Lake. It would be quaint. It will be fun to see the changes. I usually only go to CL on my way to ducks/fish. Linesville is slowly improving, too.

....the development of the area’s new focal point of the multi-million dollar lake recreational day tourist activities are moving forward nicely........without a tax hike.....thanks to the dedicated efforts of Conneaut Lake borough private citizen volunteers who have initiated and managed grass-root efforts to improve the flailing economic progress of their community-

....readers should consider attending at all costs.

For the newer readers, even with the recent lot sales to raise critically needed revenue, based on court documents, it will take over 200,000 DIVA $10 benefit tickets sold for the park to break even on the new debt the park has incurred since filing for bankruptcy.

The park needs cash.

According to court filings, Allan Shaddinger, attorney for the Conneaut Lake Joint Municipal Authority (the lake area sewer system agency), informed the court the park has not paid its sewer bill to the Conneaut Lake Joint Municipal authority since February of 2016.

And contrary to the reports the park has paid its back tax debt, Lawrence Bolla, attorney for the unofficial (ad hoc) committee of real estate tax creditors, the tax bodies, informed the court the park still owes the taxing districts approximately $76,000.00 on the park's back property debt.

On April 6, and with the park preparations beginning to start for the 2018 season, William Bragg, CLP Chairman, reported to the court that CLP had $37, 681.60 available cash on hand.

I have a copy of the 2014 edition of Western Pennsylvania magazine which has a big article about the history of CLP. I will mail it to anyone who wants it. Wraith? Send me a pm . I actually think I picked it up for Gore's collection but he didn't want it. I'm cleaning out ephemera.

The 2018 CLP operating summer season is quickly approaching.

Local press readers are likely about to be peppered with repeated upbeat press reports of statements by park officials exalting how the park is improving and how well the park is doing financially under the park’s contracted management.

Given the factually documented record, it is no surprise that the local press continues failing to report to local readers and voters of the totality of the official documented facts regarding the charging-$10,000-a-month park management’s actual record of financial performance.

....from the official U.S Federal Court records, a revealing statement in the park’s own motion submitted to the bankruptcy court at the hearing seeking permission to sell the last lake front lot:

It should be interesting to see if the local press reports to local readers and voters that KNOX McLAUGHLIN GORNALL & SENNETT,  P.C., attorneys for the Conneaut Lake Joint Municipal Authority (CL area sewer system) filed notice in the hearing of the last lot that park has not paid it sewer taxes/fees to the sewer Authority, in violation of the Debtor’s (CLP) confirmed Plan and Disclosure Statement which provides the Reorganized will pay current operating expenses.

The Authority attorney stated the park admits in its sale motion the park does not have sufficient funding from ongoing operations to pay its prepetition liabilities as well being unable to finance the needed capital improvements and maintenance that is required for the park.

The attorneys requested the net sale revenues generated from the sale of the last lot be placed in escrow until an an agreement is finalized in a  meeting between the Authority and the park regarding payment of the post-confirmation sewer taxes/fees.

Per bankruptcy court filings, the park has not paid its sewer taxes/fees since April of 2016.

The park previously publicly stated it was would install a new Go Kart Attraction in the Convention Hall and expand Camperland for the 2016 season to generate needed revenues to pay creditors.

The park then publicly stated it would the expand Camperland for the 2017 season to season to generate needed revenues to pay creditors.

The park then stated it hoped it would break ground on the Camperland expansion in the Fall of 2017 and be open for the 2018 season to generate needed revenues to pay creditors.

Well . . . one cool thing about the Park (kinda) . . . the Escape Rooms they have there are pretty neat. If you've never been to one, I highly recommend it.

....given the park's admission in its not-reported-by-the local-press court motion that is doesn't have the money needed to pay debts and  routine maintenance, readers can draw their own conclusions regarding the revenues the park is earning from the hotel lessee and the hotel's sub-lessee Escape Room operator.
