And in other news...

The Golden Ticket Awards are a joke!  If you read how the parks are voted for, you'll understand.  I've been to many parks across the U.S. and Idlewild is not the premier children park it once was.  On Facebook reviews CLP is actually rated better than Idlewild and Kennywood.  Also you can checkout fan Facebbok accounts too.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/868726846527083/

You are entitled to your opinion. I grew up going to Idlewild, and it is large and thriving - certainly it is not under the financial curse of "the trust" and a mountain of debt.

I grew up going to Idlewild, Kennywood, and CLP, and still frequent all 3 parks.  The reviews don't lie, KP and Idlewid are overpriced understaffed parks at which multiple rides and concessions are closed daily.  Large and thriving?  It should be immaculate being owned by Parques Reunidos, and managed by Palace Entertainment.  Just in the last few years Idlewild has removed 4 of it's major rides and replaced only 1.  The coaster sat idle for a whole season last year, but prices still went up.  If you want to go to a few parks to get more for your buck, I'd suggest going to Waldameer in Erie, and Delgrosso's in Tipton.  You'll get in for half the price of Idlewild and everything will be open.

....from social media, pics of the water tower hole posted by residents at the base of the tower of their property being inundated by the water pouring from the corroded joint at the base of the tower during the summer:

In addition to the obvious physical appearance of the park’s water tower, it will be interesting how the local press and cash-strapped park speaks to the lead contamination-potential issue.

The Environmental Protection Agency states lead can affect almost every organ and system in the human body. Lead is so dangerous that it has been banned in gasoline and indoor paint.

....in response to the numerous inquiries regarding comments on several private, closed group social media sites stating that monetary contributions made to the park are tax deductible-

....the factual documented answer is yes, contributions made to the park are indeed tax deductible, when made following IRS rules.

For what ever reason, the park and local press media have not reported that the CLP is in fact an IRS designated 501 (c) (3) charitable tax deductible charitable organization, and was granted it charitable designation in February of 2017:

Per the citied NTEE code, CLP is tax exempt being a park and play ground-

IRS requirements to be designated a 501 (c) (3) charitable tax deductible charitable organization-

Someone finally stumbled upon one of those other influencing financial factors!!!!!

But, to be factual, you should go to the original source. The tax exempt status actually goes back to October 6, 2016. That may change a few things you have been looking at.....
It should be noted that they have been granted 509 A2 status which deals with "private foundations". This designation allows charitable donations to be written off under (or similar to) Chapter 501 C3. It also waives taxes on income.

If memory serves me, the Grand Poobah said that the park did not qualify for non profit status.  Guess I should go find that quote in the back pages for the "newer readers." It's not about discrediting, it is about accuracy and truthfulness.

Original documents are so much better......

For reader reference, this is how the IRS defines a 509 A2. For the sake of your sanity, I will save you further as it is mind numbing. If you would like to read more click on this link - https://www.irs.gov/irm/part7/irm_07-026-004 or this helpful link and document on all types of contributions if you're motivated: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p526.pdf:

....hey Chuck-

....remember when you were in the shoulder-to-shoulder line of broom-pushing park maintenance workers and would sweep and clean down the length of the midway pavement every morning?

....passed along from the from the social media contingent-

......now it is a single EPACC worker hopping off a golf cart every now and then to weed-whack the midway pavement..... (ode to military vet and esteemed biology teacher Arnie Ecklund-) ....“wild flowers”-

always was amazed at the amount of trash they pushed down the midway.....from the paper cups, paper tubes from cotton candy, popcorn boxes, sno cone cups, peanut bags......they also had one machine, but it was the teamwork and camaraderie of the maintenance workers early in the am that struck a chord with a 11-12 year old waiting in line to buy donuts....
